Well, I spent a couple of hours this evening driving back and forth between Lowes and Home Depot trying to find tiles to fill in the blank spot in the bathroom. The tiles I needed where white tiles that were 4 3/8" square. Apparently this is an oddball size, since I couldn't find any anywhere. I ended up buying sixty white tiles that were 4 1/4" square instead. It was the closest I could find. Why did I buy so many? The tiles are only 4 inches square so they are pretty small. I estimated that I needed 40 to cover the open area in the bathroom. I figured that I'd buy a few extras just in case I need them. Plus, the extras will likely be used to fill in the blank spot in the other bathroom, when I get around to that. Also, the tiles were only 17 cents a piece, so it's not like I spent a fortune on them... I wish all home repairs were that cheap! I finally got the tiles home. By now it was about 8:30pm. I then relaxed a bit around the house.
After a bit of relaxing I went to tackle the wall patching. I grabbed the little bucket of wallboard patch compound from the garage and headed in. Unfortunately, the entire bucket of wallboard patch was completely dried out and useless. That'll teach me to not put the cap back on tightly! Unfortunately, by now it was 9:30PM and Home Depot is closed. So much for doing the repairs today.
Also, considering how tomorrow is the release of the original Star Wars on DVD and the big Apple announcement, I suspect I may be a bit busy tomorrow night 'geeking out' and not doing the bathroom.
