It's time for my next great travel adventure. This time it's going to be to Rome, Italy. Earlier this year, I spent a week in Paris, France. That was my first trip out of the country. It was a tiring trip, mentally and physically but it was worth it. That one trip has got me hooked on seeing the world. No more boring trips to Disney in Orlando every year for me! There is so much to see out there in the world, and I want to see it!
I mentioned this trip to my parents the other day. My father, to my surprise, suggested that I bring my mother along on the trip this time. Naturally I agreed. Of course I asked my father to go too, but he is very hesitant about the trip. He had a heart attack a number of years ago and now has a defibrillator in his chest. I think he's afraid he'll have a heart attack while on the trip. I don't think this will happen. As far as I know, the only problem that defibrillator could cause is that he can't go through the metal detectors at the airport, because they can damage it. He's got a card to prove he has it, so it shouldn't be a problem.
My mom originally said she would think about going. She wasn't sure about it. Today she called me and told me that she had thought about it, and decided to go! That means there's going to be at least two people on this trip. Both of us really want my dad to go, but we need to work to convince him. I really hope he goes. It's going to be a great trip, and really, how often do you get to see Rome?
I was thinking about going sometime in July of next year, preferably so I can celebrate my birthday in Rome. We still need to get together to plan the trip. Hopefully we'll get that done this weekend and hopefully we can convince my father. I think it would be a fantastic family outing.
Now, If I can convince Dad to go to Rome next year, maybe I can convince him to go to Germany the year after that... (hint hint)
